Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Her songs were written before she could read or write. When she was 8, she got her first electric guitar. She started singing at the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the following year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. At the age of 16, she was able to establish herself within the school community but her dream was greater.
