Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football with volunteering for the community. Selmon is the youngest of children from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who had him raised on their farm in Eufala. In football, he played alongside three brothers from Oklahoma. The three brothers all made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey was one of the starters for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award for being the top lineman in America. In the three years that Roy was a starter, Oklahoma won two National Championships. The National Football Foundation named him a Scholar-Athlete for the third time in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree from the university of California in Berkeley. Fourth year of college Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. Following graduation, Lee Roy settled in Tampa where he spent nine years playing with Tampa's Buccaneers. Three times he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Relation Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top ten outstanding young people throughout the United States. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in the height department and weighed 256 lbs when he was a student athlete. He was captain of the team in 1975. In 1993, he became the as associate director at the University of South Florida. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
